| Kurt D. Lloyd Kurt D. Lloyd is a founding partner of Lloyd & Cavanagh in Chicago, Illinois During his career, he has focused his practice on plaintiffs trial work, most notably plaintiffs personal injury. Mr. Lloyd handles major personal injury matters with emphasis on medical negligence, product liability and other complex negligence cases. Mr. Lloyd has obtained one or more multi-million dollar jury verdicts or settlements annually during the last ten years. In l995, Mr. Lloyd won a 9.7 million dollar jury verdict against an HMO physician for obstetrical negligence which brain damaged a child, the first Illinois case to hold a physician liable for the patients complete obstetrical care under a managed care insurance plan. In l999, Mr. Lloyd became an invited member of the American Board of Trial Advocates after having completed fifty jury trials. Mr. Lloyd is a frequent contributor to the literature and the continuing education of the legal profession. Mr. Lloyd is the co-editor of the two volume national text: Medical and Hospital Negligence, 2nd Edition (in press). Mr. Lloyd has authored the book chapter: Closing Arguments in the Medical Negligence Trial Notebook. He is the past co-chairman of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Associations educational Seminars Program. He has lectured regularly to trial attorneys on discovery and trial techniques and many other negligence issues. |
