Beth S. Sufian
Beth S. Sufian focuses her practice on representing individuals
with disabilities in claims brought under the ADA, Social Security appeals, long term disability appeals, and health insurance coverage appeals. 
 

She serves on the National Board of Trustees of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Board of Directors of Advocacy, Inc., the Texas protection and advocacy organization.  She is the former Chair of the State Bar of Texas Disability Issues Committee.   

Beth was named one of the top 40 lawyers under age 40 by the Texas Lawyer in 2001, received the CF Foundation Chairman’s award in 2002, and was recognized as a “local hero” by TIME magazine in 1996.   

Beth is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars, medical seminars, and patient advocacy seminars around the country.  She is co-author of the Advocacy Manual: A Clinician’s Guide to the Legal Rights of People with Cystic Fibrosis

Beth graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1990 and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1987.

James A. Passamano
James A. Passamano advocates for the rights of individuals with disabilities around the country and counsels employers on compliance with the ADA, other civil rights laws, and ERISA matters.  
 

He is a former Senior Trial Attorney for the United States Equal Employment Opportunities Commission.  While at the EEOC James successfully brought the Commission’s first ADA case in Texas and later obtained the first temporary injunction under the ADA in Texas.   

James has served as an adjunct professor at South Texas College of Law, University of Houston Law Center, and Rice University where he has taught courses on the Americans with Disabilities Act and Civil Rights in the European Union.  He has lectured in the United States, Europe and Asia on issues of civil rights and international law.  He is co-author of the Advocacy Manual: A Clinician’s Guide to the Legal Rights of People with Cystic Fibrosis. 

James received a Master of Law degree with honors from Cambridge University in England in 1999.  He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1990 and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1985.  He served as a judicial law clerk in the Southern District of Texas from 1990 to 1992.
